Our Business Spotlight this week is Front Porch Marketplace. Front Porch Marketplace, located at 100 E. 2nd Street, opened it’s doors at a time when downtown Donalsonville didn’t have much going for it. But the Downtown Development Authority had a vision and under the direction of Virginia Harrison, they went for it! One of their success stories is HoneyBee Boutique which started as a vendor in Front Porch. HoneyBee Boutique has since moved to a separate location and has expanded.
Front Porch is a small business incubator that started up with a USDA grant. They have hosted many vendors in the last few years and currently have about 17 with various sized spaces at their location. Their products range from antique furniture to jewelry and clothing to skin products. You can always find something for yourself or a gift for pretty much any occasion. The DDA purchased the building they occupy last year with another grant and they are currently working on their third purchase on 2nd Street. We are glad Front Porch Marketplace is in Donalsonville and we look forward to much shared economic success!
