2026 Chamber Monthly Newsletter: May Edition

April 29, 2026

The Donalsonville/Seminole County Chamber of Commerce would like to thank everyone who came out to support the 2026 Boots and Roots Rodeo on April 24th and 25th. The Chamber contracted once again with rodeo celebrity and all around world rodeo champion Justin Thigpen and T-T Rodeo Company, who brought a weekend of family friendly fun, featuring Calf Roping, Steer Wrestling, Saddle Bronc Riding, Barrel Racing, Team Roping, Bull Riding, Bareback Riding, Calf Scramble, Cowgirl Breakaway Roping, and the popular Diamond Dash. Featured entertainment included 12 year old Rodeo clown, Slade Thigpen.

The event was well attended again this year with over 2,000 in attendance throughout the weekend. On Friday night, the SCES singers did a great job with the National Anthem, as well as SCHS Senior Makenzie Brown on Saturday night. Named as a salute to Seminole County’s farmers and agri-businesses, the Boots & Roots Rodeo benefits the local Chamber of Commerce and the youth of our community, as a portion of proceeds is donated to them.

Go ahead and mark your calendars for April 23-24, 2027 for what will be our 11th annual Boots & Roots Rodeo!

The Donalsonville/Seminole County Chamber of Commerce would like to personally thank our Boots & Roots Rodeo Committee, Chamber of Commerce Board, Sponsors, and volunteers: Seminole County 4-H, Seminole County Chorus, Seminole County CTI students, Boy Scouts, Friendship House of Jesus for all their hard work during the rodeo. We would also like to thank City of Donalsonville Public Works, SunSouth LLC, Sheriff Heath Elliot & the entire Sheriff’s Dept., the Seminole County Volunteer Fire Department, Survival Flight EMS, and all other law enforcement agencies for their part in arena set up and ensuring the safety of rodeo attendees. Shoutout to Jeremy & Hannah Roberts for providing a trailer for the judge’s booth. We could not have made this event the success that it was without each and every one of you!

Now that the rodeo is over, we have several projects in the works for this summer, so stay tuned! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out!
