Good Morning, Members!
We have officially entered our busy season here at the Chamber of Commerce! This past weekend, the Miss Seminole County pageant was revived under the direction of new pageant director Abigail Grantham and the Miss Seminole County Board. With an attendance of over 200, 30 contestants competed and your new Miss Seminole County is Emma Godby. The newly crowned queens are encouraged to participate in many local events throughout the year, so you will see them around! More details on the pageant can be found on page 3 of this newsletter.
This coming weekend on March 7-8, the Chamber sponsors the Georgia Bass Nation High School Tournament out at Reynolds Landing. We are excited to have them here this weekend and wish them luck. Next week, on March 13th, we are kicking off our 2025 Quarterly Business After Hours at the Donalsonville Lions Hall at 5:30 pm. This event will be hosted by Five Star Credit Union. They will have staff onsite to answer any questions the community may have.
Next Friday and Saturday, March 14-15 is the DDA’s Firehouse BBQ Festival, with a community yard sale on March 15th, as well as Alf’s Farm & Garden’s farmers market and the SC Rec Department’s Opening Day. Make sure to spend some time in the community next weekend and support all of these events!
The Chamber’s annual Farmers Appreciation Luncheon event is set for March 20th, 2025 at 11:30 am. The luncheon will be held at the Donalsonville Lions Hall. This year’s event is to be catered by Sam Gay, with a seafood buffet! Our speaker for the event is Don Koehler, Executive Director of the Georgia Peanut Commission. We ask that you please RSVP by March 14th.
Lastly for March we have a Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting ceremony planned for Graceful Oaks Gifts and Apparel on March 21st at 10 am. come out and support our newest Chamber member! We have the Boots & Roots Rodeo coming up on April 25-26, which is the Chamber’s biggest event of the year!
