The annual Harvest Festival, set for October 18th, is shaping up to be one of the most creative yet, thanks to a new partnership between the Seminole County High School Art Department and the Donalsonville Chamber of Commerce.
This year, the festival will feature a special art area where the high school’s talented art students will offer free face painting for children throughout the day. The collaboration not only provides young festival goers with a fun and colorful experience but also gives students the opportunity to share their artistic skills with the community. These students are led by high school teacher Madison Moore.
In addition to the students’ participation, local artist Margaret Atwater will be joining the festivities. Atwater, known for her vibrant, seasonal painting of Patty Patch that is located at Ponder Corner every fall and for her community involvement by giving back to the local arts by helping paint backdrops for the local play through Seminole County Elementary School.
Festival organizers say they’re thrilled to bring together local artists, students, and families to celebrate the season. “It’s a wonderful example of community spirit,” said Chamber president Kadie Matthews. “We’re proud to highlight the incredible talent right here in our town.”
The Harvest Festival will take place downtown from 10 AM to 3 PM. Admission is free, and all are welcome to enjoy food, music, crafts, and plenty of fall fun.
