2026 Chamber Monthly Newsletter: August Edition

July 28, 2026

Summer break is almost over and school is starting back, which means things are about to start ramping up again here at the Chamber! In July, we participated in the Lakeside Festival & Fireworks show, helped host two ribbon cuttings, hosted a class with the UGA Small Business Development Center, and we have recently begun planning for one of the biggest Chamber events, the annual Donalsonville/Seminole County Harvest Festival!

We are so excited for this year’s Harvest Festival on October 17th, 2026. The festival starts with the Rejoice Run & Mom’s Mile at 8am, followed by the parade at 11 am. This year’s parade theme is “Thank a Farmer” – a heartfelt celebration of the hardworking men and women who keep our agriculture community growing. After the parade, we will have the Pledge of Allegiance & National Anthem, a performance from local dance studio & Chamber member Persnickety Studios, the Spring Creek Charter Academy twirlers, and then finally our featured performer, Dylan Kelley, will take the stage! Along with our many local downtown businesses that will be open, we will have our usual arts & crafts vendors, recipe contest, art show, food vendors, kids entertainment including inflatables, face painting, games and more!

On Thursday, October 15th, in conjunction with the Harvest Festival, we will kick things off with the Annual Farm Tour, hosted by the UGA Extension Office, Seminole County Young Farmers, and Seminole County FFA. The Farm Tour will be from 10 am – 2 pm, starting at the Seminole County Ag Barn. Also on October 15th, from 3 pm – 6 pm, you can drop off your entries for the annual Harvest Festival Recipe Contest at the UGA Extension Office!

There are also several community events still going on, with a Back to School Bash at Graceful Oaks on August 1st, Hall of Fame Induction at the Seminole Co. All Purpose Room on August 2nd, Back to Schools sales at Othell’s on August 1st, School Supply Scramble/Open House on August 3rd, school starts back on August 6th, and many more upcoming events as we approach the fall season! There is a lot going on in our community, and we are super excited about it!

As always, if you have any questions regarding the Chamber or any Chamber events, or would like to volunteer in any way, feel free to reach out!
