Meet the Chamber Board: Billie McClendon

Born and raised in Seminole County, Billie McLendon has devoted her career to strengthening families and children in her community through the power of literacy and collaboration. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Service and has served for the past seven years as the Coordinator for Seminole County Family Connection.

Billie is a grant writer who has secured funding for both Seminole County Family Connection and the Donalsonville Downtown Development Authority, including a $100,000 grant to purchase a downtown building to encourage local business growth.

Billie also played an instrumental role in revitalizing the Seminole County Senior Center, partnering with the Board of Commissioners to reopen it in June 2022. Since then, she has helped expand the Center’s offerings to include activities such as book club, canasta, paint and jewelry classes, crochet club, and the monthly Backyard Pickers event.

Beyond her professional commitments, Billie actively serves her community through various organizations. She is a member of the Seminole County Public Library Board of Trustees, the Board of Directors for Pataula Center for Children, a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer, a Spring Creek Charter School Parent Council member, Middle and High School FCA clubs, and a 4-H Horse Quiz Bowl coach.

Billie is fairly new to the Chamber Board; however, she has already made a huge impact within the Chamber and in our community and we are excited to continue working with her. Above all, Billie, together with her husband Mac, is devoted to living the values they hope to pass on to their four children—kindness, compassion, and the courage to make a difference.
